If I was a high school girl, I would say Malibu is required. You could
scratch the E&J Brandy off the list and put Malibu in its place. I don't see
it used in a lot of mixed drinks, but I do occasionally have someone who
orders a Malibu & milk at the bar I work at. There are a lot of different
flavored rums and vodkas, but it's best to cover the non-flavored versions
first. Malibu is only 21% alcohol (42 proof), and will cost you about $14 for
a 750mL bottle. The real issue I see is that it's not used in a lot of drinks.

I based all of the prices I gave you on the 750mL bottle size. Each one of
these bottles will last forever after opened. You can put tequila and vodka
in the freezer if you'd like (they won't freeze), but as long as you pour your
cocktails over plenty of ice it doesn't really matter. The bars just leave
everything out on a room temperature rack behind the bar and they don't seem
to be too worried about it.

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
