The original way to consume tequila was known as the Mexican itch.
With coarse salt and a wedge of lime.
A Mexican folk hero named Pacnho Villa was famed for drinking this.
Therefore walking into a mexican cantina and ordering - "Tequila esilo Pancha 
Villa por favor" will get you the classic shot of tequila with lime and 
kitchen salt (much better than table salt).
