Well for starters (no offence) being attractive really has nothing to do with
the job (believe me) you dont get hired on your looks but on your skill and
professionalism.

Those course you spoke about can be helpful esspecially when you dont know
anyone who has/owns a bar and can teach you some hands on experience and an
insite into how your skills are.

If a place is looking for a bartender and requests a faxed resume, fax it that
is how you will get attention by sending resumes EVERYWHERE!

Go to some bars and befriend the bartenders that are already working there,
then try and get some pointers of them.

Also you can never know enough about this industry and you should already be
reading the latest bartending magazines out trying to keep up to date with the
latest trends (knowing what is in and what is out will impress)

You just have to keep getting out there and looking for jobs cause one wont
fall in your lap.

If you have to go into the bar that you are wanting to work at (everyday if
you have to and if you cant get in everyday ring everyday) and keep asking if
there is a position free cause if you show that you are keen to work as a
bartender and have the personality and stamina for the job then you will be
highly considered.

Good luck and hopefully this has helped somewhat
