In an answer, no.

Asking for what the best scotch is for a scotch drinker is like asking what
music should I buy for a music lover.

Scotch drinkers tend to be extremely loyal to "their" brand. Blend drinkers
tend to only drink blends and single-malt drinkers stay with single-malts.
They are NOT like wine drinkers who can "appreciate" a new or exciting shiraz.
That, for the most part, is a reason why there really aren't any "new" brands
on the market. (though single-malt fans tend to be more willing to try new
tastes than blends. You might get lucky though with a blend - Royal Salute is
premium Chivas and Johnny Walker has many upgrades from JW Red.)

Having said that, some rich, successful scotch drinkers love J&B or Dewar's,
both of which, to me, are quite mediocre. However, to spend double the money
and buy them a nice Macallen or Glenfiddich would be a wholly un-appreciated,
if well-meant gesture.

Drop hints, get more info. Think of the response if you gave Beethoven to
Elvis fan.

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
