There are a few different versions of a Long Island Iced Tea, and there are
also a few different variations of the Long Island Iced Tea. Here are a few
with some comments (All are garnished with a lemon/lemon twist).

Long Island Iced Tea Better Long Island Iced Tea
1/2 oz vodka 1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz rum 1/2 oz rum
1/2 oz gin 1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz tequila 2 oz sour mix
1/2 oz triple sec Fill with coke
2 oz sour mix Short Shake
Fill with coke Float 1/2 oz triple sec
Short Shake

--The main difference between the two is the tequila. Most of my bar patrons
do not like tequila and prefer the second version

Long Beach Iced Tea Electric Iced Tea
1/2 oz vodka 1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz rum 1/2 oz rum
1/2 oz gin 1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz triple sec 2 oz sour mix
2 oz sour mix Fill with Sprite or 7-Up
Top with cranberry juice Short Shake
Short shake Float 1/2 oz blue curacao
