Scotch blends best with a few drops of mineral water, or if you must, a cube 
or so of ice. Scotch is not known for being a "fun" liquor. If your friends 
are scotch drinkers, they would understand, but I find it to be a liquor 
atrocity when people try to make scotch somehow more "drinkable." Scotch is 
great "neat." Drink it with pride.

In fact, I almost killed two roommates who decided upon finishing off all 
their own Montezuma tequila that mixing my Glenfiddich with diet dr. pepper 
would be a nifty idea...
