On a whim, I picked up "Chaucer's Mead" (Bargetto Winery) at my local liquor store (Binney's in Chicago). The wine sized bottle comes with two tea-bag like sacks of spices and it is recommended drunk warm. I have no way of knowing if this is even close to being authentic. It is tasty in the warm liqueur kind of winter way. Not a summer beach drink. Moreover, I would put this in the Foster's / Corona category: not a world-class product, but very easy to enjoy and imbibe. I drink a few bottles of this stuff every winter. http://webwinery.com/Webuser/displaywine.taf?function=form&Wineid=124 cheers!
