As a Floridian, I believe the law the voters passed only bans smoking in
restaurants and contains an exception for "stand-alone bars", and I just read
an article in the Orlando Sentinel that said the bill is currently stalled in
the state legislature. They have yet to define what a "stand-alone bar" is,
i.e. what percentage of sales can come from food. The large chain restaurant
I work for is still allowing smoking at the bar, and our sales have been way
up since we are one of only two in town still doing it.
