Highlites of NY State Mandated "No Smoking Law"

effective in Nassau County and NYC as of March 1

No smoking at any place of employment
Exceptions
1-Tobacco Bar generating 10%  or more revenue from tobacco products
2-Owner Operated Bar no employees
3-Seperate Smoking Room
       Room for sole purpose of smoking-No employees may enter
4-Tobacco Promo's limited to 5 a year
5-Outdoor Areas Permitted in 25% of outdoor dining seats for restaurants must 
be atleast 3 feet away from non-smoking area. For bars no restrictions in 
outdoor areas

Penalties 1st violation $200-400
           2nd  (within 12 months $500-1000
           3rd subsequent revocation of health code provisions
Individuals may be fined up to $100 for smoking where prohibited
 I believe this law takes effect in Suffolk County as of July 1
Don't know about Fla but this is NY
