Jen,
Sounds like those "little boys" might be using internet fake IDs. Next time
you suspect a fake check the hologram on the ID. Like I said before, usually
these internet IDs use similar holograms. The IDs themselves are pretty
impressive because they are almost a perfect match to the real state ID
they're replicating. Its pretty frustrating, being a college bar owner, that
any kid on campus can go on the internet and for $60-$100 get a very good fake
ID for any state. I've got dozens & dozens of these internet ones in my
office. The holograms can be ovals with the words "genuine", "authentic",
"security", or similar words. I've also came across some that have key shaped
holograms covering the ID. Real state IDs have very distinctive holograms. I
teach my bouncers to look for the holograms 1st, if that's wrong no need to
look further. We keep an ID Checking Guide at the door to refer to if we come
across an ID that we not familiar with. This is the web site for the guide if
you're interested http://www.driverslicenseguide.com
I'll try to find out the names of some of the different ID checking machines.
I think I've got some literature on them at my bar.
Hope it helps,
Hargman
PS Here's the website for my bar. Check it out if you're bored sometime
