Hi Everyone,
My name Pedro & I’m a Bartender in S. Beach, Florida. For the last month I
have been looking for work down here, but it’s getting pretty pointless. I’ve
bumped into a lot of guys who have been looking for over 3 months. The problem
in South Florida is Sexual Discrimination against Male Bartenders. All the
Bars down here want Hot women w/ Big Breast & Tight Round asses, don’t get me
wrong that’s what I look for in a women too ;-) , but it’s killing me
professionally.
Yesterday I was talking to a guy that has Bartended in L.A. (I believe that’s
where he’s from?) & N.Y. , he told me N.Y. was the best place he has
Bartended, that the Industry in N.Y. doesn’t have the Cluster F#$k Problems
that we experience in S. Florida. I told him I’m from Strong Island, and that
I wanted to go back home, but didn’t think the Industry in N.Y. was doing to
good after September 11th. He said he talked to his buddies in N.Y. and they
said that things were Great! He himself just wants to work one last season
here and then go to N.Y.
What I was hoping to hear from my fellow Bartender in N.Y. is:
1)How are things in the Business over there?
2)Is Sexual Discrimination a big problem in N.Y.? I imagine it’s a problem
everywhere but how bad is it?
3)What are the High Seasons in N.Y.? I never Bartended in N.Y.?
The above questions go for Long Island too. You would really be helping out a
fellow Bartender. I’ve recently decided to better myself as a Bartender; I’m
just starting to study Wines, More Cocktail Recipes & Extreme Bartending
(Flair). I quit Smoking & Drinking (the drinking is just until I get back in
shape)
Take care & Happy Bartending!!
