I am on a low carb diet myself and it has forced me to search for the alcohols
that I am allowed without breaching the limits of the diet. The interesting
thing about 80 proof liquors is that there are NO carbohydrates! The problem
with this seamingly blessed arrangement is that on the low carb diet
(according to Dr. Atkins) you are trying to get your body to burn fat
constantly by eliminating the carbs that it would normally burn first. When
alcohol is in your system however, your body will burn the alcohol instead of
fat. So you are basically stagnating your diet. Might as well have a big bowl
of pasta!
This site has proved to be a godsend when it comes to trying to figure out
