Indiana laws do allow bartenders to be held as a liable third party in alcohol
related accidents. But only if the bartender is negligent in their duties.
The following is a clip from a web site about one such instance:
Bartender Charged with Reckless Homicide in Overdose Death
An Anderson, Indiana bartender was charged with reckless homicide in the
October
death of a bar patron who was served excessive amounts of alcohol, according
to
Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings. Bartender Gay Ann Beeman was
charged
with reckless homicide, and sale to a prohibited person (an intoxicated
person),
and her bond was set at $10,000.
Another interesting thing related to insurance is something I recently
encountered. I am 21 and am in the process of becoming independant from my
parents. In our search for health insurance for myself we were told by Blue
Cross/Blue Shield that they will not insure bartenders. I was curious if
anyone knew the reason?

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
