Triple Sec is an orange flavored liqueur, normally used as a sweetening
agent. Most schnapps companies make triple sec, and it's used in Margaritas,
Long Islands, and many, many other popular drinks.
Kahlua is a proprietary, meaning a specific brand using its own formula,
liqueur, which tastes like coffee. It's used mostly in drinks where it's
featured, such as black russians, white russians, Sombreros, Smith and Kerns,
etc.
Hope I've helped.
David
