Gold and Silver tequila are produced in the same way. From the blue agave
plant in mexico. However the distillation process only makes silver tequila.
The tequila is made golden by aging it in wooden barrels. The answer to your
second question is yes they do taste different. Gold tequila has a much more
mellow taste. As far as affecting the taste of drinks, I personally feel it
would make a difference in a margarita but not in a long island.
