Here's a really simply, but beautiful, one I learnt in Reunion Island (the 
true spiritual home of punch). 
One part "rum agricole" to three parts orange juice with a hefty splash of 
orgeat syrup (sugar syrup would do, if you can't find orgeat). Splice three 
vanilla pods and leave in the fridge for a couple of days. Serve with orange 
and lime wedges, and fresh lychees if you can get your hands on them.

Like I say, really simple, but frickin' amazing.
