I agree. Early weekdays are always a problem for both staff and managers --
they are both under pressure to do something to make the whole thing work even
when there's nobody out there who wants to go to your bar.
Your bar sells food, and the chances are there's stuff in the kitchen that is
simply going to get thrown away if it's not sold by Monday or Tuesday so deals
on food are good, however, free food is better still :)
We used to run a Curry Night (still the UK's most popular dish, apparently)
where we would cook up all the left over meats and vegetables that would be
chucked away if not sold and give this stuff away for free at a particular
time in the evening. Perhaps those crab claws of yours could be made into
something cheap to make and give away -- something that the bar profits would
easily account for?
We also used to run free pool evenings and occasionally make the juke box free
but all that depends on the deal you have with your suppliers.
Like anything else you can come up with, these will have an impact, but don't
expect to be too much busier -- remember that these will always be slow days
and no matter what you do and no matter how much advertising you put behind
it, things happen very slowly.
Cheers, and good luck,
Jim.
