I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Bartending School on your resume 
will NOT help you get a job.  Having said that, bartending school can help you 
in other ways.  I went to a hands on school.  600 bucks later, I knew 200+ 
recipes by heart, could pour it without thinking, knew what garnish goes with 
what, what a speed pour, production pour, measured pour, *.pour is.  Learned 
the intricacies of floating liquors/liquers, blending drinks, mixing drinks 
(to this day, I have yet to meet a bartender that stirs a drink properly), and 
the laws.  Most important thing I got out of the school was confidence.  If 
someone asked for a Ramos Fizz, I KNOW I can make it, cuz I did it a thousand 
times before.
