Subject: lazy bartender

I am having a problem with the new bartender they have hired at work. She has
been there several months and can not seem to hit her numbers (ever) because
she is to busy flirting with the manager, running off to the bathroom and
doing shots in the office I do twice the work she does and none of my
waitstaff wants to go to her because they say she is slow, snoby, and is
hardly ever at her well. The owners have talked to her several times about
this and still her performance has not improved at all she will leave the bar
for 15-30 min. at a time or leave the bar unattended while I am in the back
opening a tab or using the restroom. I also have a suspicion that she is
either stealing from the tip jars or that since she sucks so bad shes not
getting tiped. I have been keeping track of the money that I make in the tip
jars and compareing it to the amount we end up splitting at the end of the
night excluding waitress tip out and I have come to find out I make twice the
amount of tips she does but since we split it all I end up getting screwed out
of the money I worked for. Why should I work twice as hard and get 1/2 the
money? What I need help on is do yall think it would be fair if I told her
that what is ever in her tip jar is hers and what ever is in mine I keep
rather than splitting it or should I just take some money off the top and not
let her know and also do you think that I should let the other bartender that
works with her on occasion know that she is not pulling her wait by bring in
tips or selling drinks.
