I went to a bartending school last winter and learned a lot. Everything from
free pouring to clean-up to recipes. I learned a lot and got through the
whole course and got "certified" etc.
I haven't bartended since new years, and even then it was just a simple party,
where most ordered "black and coke." I started applying to a lot of the
clubs and turned in applications, while not expecting to work on the busy
nights, to get a grip of the wheels.
Turns out that one popular club in the city wants to throw me to the wolves
and give me the 10-5am shift on a saturday night (the busiest). I obviously
accepted the challenge, but im anxious to know what to expect. What happens
if I get asked a drink i dont know? What happens if a customer gets
disgruntled about my inexperienced service? I've worked in retail and dealt
with people before, but the customers i dealt with were never drunk...at least
i dont think so!!
Are there any words of wisdom that you guys might provide me so that i swim
and NOT sink? What are the "trendy" drinks that i might not have encountered?
thanks in advanced.
