Key number one: SHOW yourself off, you gotta really show your personality to
the manager. If you blow this they won't think you've got it.

Key two: Just go and apply, most of them never post ads, some hire from
within, bar back to bartender.

Call ahead, get the person's name in charge of hiring and ask when they will
be in or if it is better to call ahead. Say you would just like a few moments
of their time after you fill out the application. The person must see you and
your application together.

Most likely they are going to tell you they have no openings right now but
they will keep your name on file. Every two weeks until you have a job go in
in person and ask if they have any openings. To every location!!!

Always dress exactly like the bartenders, unless they wear tux's or skimply
outfits dress one down or many up :) :) :) As you see fit. Especially in
clubs they are looking for attractive people, there are exceptions to this
rule, but in the service industry the better looking you are the better your
chances.

It is really hard to get a bartending job without having bartended before, it
is even hard to get a position if you have. Everyone wants to be the
bartender, we make more than servers and get treated a hell of a lot better.

Many will not care about your schooling, this is a sad fact, but I think some
of the fresh from school bartenders aren't highly trusted. Push it anyhow.

Just remember you are applying for a position that requires different
attitudes and styles than say, a consultant. You have to show that side of
yourself, if you don't have that side, what are you trying to do anyhow!!!

good luck! And *A*lways *K*iss *B*efore you *K*ick *A*ss
