That's good advice. I did bartending school a few years ago and was very
lucky to know someone in the biz who gave me my first job. The school really
shouldn't have been called a bartending school, as there is MUCH more to
bartending than learning to mix drinks. I learned more my first day behind a
real bar than I did the whole time "at school".
If you do decide to go to a school, understand that most of them are little
more than "mixology" courses and that you will be paying someone a couple
hundred dollars to give you a demonstration of what you could learn from a 15
dollar book.
