a 'well drink' is a drink made with the cheapest & most economical products
for the bar. the default brand for a 'vodka & tonic', is what ever is in the
speedrail, and is designated as 'house brand'.
some quality bars pour quality brands as their 'house brands'. So the name
'house brand' does not neccessarily mean the worst.
I have worked at bars that used: makers mark & woodford reserve as their house
bourbons.
the same bars made a point of not pouring (or even having) such brands as:
smirnoff, gordons, bacardi. these brands are pub brands, and are definately
not quality.
