I hear what you are saying, but it seems like every person that runs a bar in
this town is some short greasy haired guy or some other toolbag (aka a troll)
Generally when i go to try and get a job I specifically ask for the bar
manager or a manager of some kind, sometimes even the owner. This is because
current employees may say they arent hiring when they actually are and dont
want competition and other various reasons. I would kill for a job right now
cause I am really struggling right now as far as money was concerned. This
guy I talked to today at a bar I have been to a few times said he only hires
doormen and then lets them work their way up to barback and then to bartender.
But the thing is at this bar I have seen a few female bartenders which gives
me an impression that is just a bullshit line he tells everyone (making him a
troll as you call it) and he is the bar manager. I know that this place does
not or ever had a female doorperson, maybe a barback but defintely not a
doorperson.
Though I do have a connection at this other mega-club in my city but that job
isn't guaranteed and even if i got the job they wouldnt need me for like 2
more months and i need to work NOW. And I really rather bartend cause it is
the only job I actually liked doing so far out of all the jobs i ever had. I
am a really hard worker and picked everything so far up fast, the las place i
worked at, I worked the back bar by myself, did just over half in sales of
what the main bar did and i always walked out with more tips than the 2 people
working the main bar. And this was every weekend I did this. Furthermore, I
didnt even have a juice gun like the main bar did, which slowed me down
considerably. I know if they just gave me a chance they would be glad they
hired me....oh well.
