The number on thing you will get from customers at a night club, is requests
for heavy pours. "Make it strong" "Hook me up". THe way I deal with that is
askingif they would like a double. If they say yes, they get a strong drink
and the bar gets its money. Otherwise most people just say no and drop it.
If you see bartenders giving away a lot of drinks, they probably are not
paying for them. Although I have known of clubs that require employees to
give away a certain amount of drinks as a way to curb overpouring.
You can make huge tips by giving away free drinks. But if you are a good
bartender and give good service ... you can make just as much as the scammers
and maintain your job security.
Yes, you make most of your money from the customers. But the job the company
provides you is the reason you have that opportunity, so stealing alchol to
give away is a very risky venture.
