A question about Cherry Brandy

The recipe for Singapore Sling (both the common version and the original
Raffles Hotel version) calls for cherry brandy.
What kind of cherry brandy is acceptable? In the market I can find "cherry
flavored brandy", but no actual cherry brandy other than Kirschwasser. Would
it be OK to use Cherry Heering? Or is cherry "flavored" brandy what I'm
looking for?
