Subject: Flaming shots - how to shoot 'em

What is the point of lighting a shot if you're going to avoid the fire by
putting it out or using a straw?

I did my first flaming shot with a die-hard drinker and amateur bartender a
couple months ago. We poured the liquor (it was black sambuca) into our
mouths, lit it, closed our mouths (to extinguish the flame) and then swallowed.

In another attempt, we lit the liqour while it was in the glass, the poured it
into our mouths.

Those were flaming shots. The fire actually altered the taste experience.
(Please note that we did this while NOT intoxicated, and when there were no
people who could bump into us and cause disasters). I had also seen 3
bartenders do the flame-in-the-mouth trick in a bar with almost all the lights
killed. It was amazing.

So please, if you're going to do a flaming shot, do a FLAMING shot. (Do it
safely).
