Here is a list of glasses (alcoholic) that I have had to deal with as a
bartender.IN 24 yrs as a bartenderI never have worked in a place that had all
of them. Why would I want another?
shot glass, jigger and pony glass for serving shooters some places now do that
in test tubes
highball glass, old fashion glass, rocks glass interchangable in a lot of
places
beer mug,beer glass, pilsner glass
white wine glass and red wine glass this matter to a lot of people but not
all
collins glass
sour glass
maragita glass
punch cup
hurricane glass
champagne glass and champagne flute the first being modeled on the breast of
Mariee Antonette(or so I've heard)
sherry glass
parfait glass
irish coffee glass
cordial glass
pousse cafe glass
cocktail glass (popularly known as the martini glass)
brandy sniffer while you can use this for other things one should never
serve brandy in anything else...well maybe a flask, or a small wood keg if you
happen to be a st bernard :)
the only history I know is the rumor of the champagne glass. Perhaps some
other people in this forum can enlighten us further on the others

if you could find a way to make them out of something that has the feel of
glass but doesn't break that would be great, as far has having another type..
no thanks.
