Subject: Being the best you can be?????

I am a semi-new bartender, roughly about 6 months behind the bar. I work in a
busy salsa/hip-hop night club in Seattle. Over the last few months I've
became fascinated with "flair". I noticed it's a great way to make a few
extra dollars over the course of a night. I've bought myself a "flair" video,
and practice whenever I have free time. I mostly do "working flair" because
of the fast paced enviroment of my club. My question for you is; do you think
this is shamelessly promoting myself at the bar that I share with 2 other
bartenders, or is more of a "eat or be eatin" type philosophy. I'm not trying
to "show up" anyone, but as a customer I would rather have someone with some
style and showmanship than just someone pouring liquor in a glass. Obviously
nobody else at the bar does any type of flair or else this question would be
irrelevant. Thanks for any advice....
