Well, in some states, you are required, by law, to claim at least a certain 
portion of your tips.  Here in PA, we have to claim at least 8% of our total 
sales, so you can often get by with just claiming credit card tips (if you 
have a particularly busy night and credit carders are tipping well).  I 
usually tell those who ask to claim at least 10% to be on the safe side.
