> Well, hopefully I can put an end to unruly "regulars" in my

> The place is a chain (yuck) named Jillian's.
They are new in the Atlanta area and more of a family entertainment center
than a night club.
> The place will be about 50,000 square feet and is a total
> entertainment complex featuring 3 individually themed bars, a roller
> rink, game room, batting range, 2 restaurants, etc...
so I wonder if someone will go there to drink without their kids
> The manager told me that the other location on Long Island brings in

wonder how much of that is from alcohol
> 1. Will it suck to work for a chain?
that's up to your attitude
> 2. Have any of you ever been to or worked at a Jillian's?
no and no, I had a gig at a similar place in Fla.(just judging from your
description and the adds they run on the t.v here.)You'll probably have to put
up with kids which has it's ups and down.Serve a lot of virgin pina coldas and
shirley temples,ect.
> 3. What do you suppose a bartender working, say, a Thursday night
> would make?? (I'm averaging $150 a night or so at my neighborhood bar
> right now)
I'm sure the money is there, Learn some magic tricks and respect the kids as
clientel.I'd bet money the regulars you get will be families as opposed to
hard drinking alkies you're serving now and you won't have any problem cutting
people off or any of the problems you talked about in your present job.
> 4. Will this be a resume booster?
Remember when you write your resume it's not only what you did but what you
learned from the experience.
> I can't get any hard numbers because this place is as yet unopened,
> but the Jillian's website for boston says they get 5,000 people
> average on a weeknight and 9,000 people on weekend nights.
if only 25% of those have one drink you'll be slammed.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
