I think it really depends on where you are at....I live in LA and do a lot of
private parties and I charge at least $20.00 an hour with a five hour minimum.
I always arrive at least an hour before guests so that I have time to set up
and get situated...more if it's a really big party..If you don't live in a
large urban area I don't know if you could charge that much...as far as
tips...even if they don't allow a tip jar there are ways to be a little sneaky
about it without offending anyone, but if you're making a great hourly then
you're not relying so much on tips like you would be if you're working in a
regular bar

If you've bartended before you don't need to take a class...just look things
over and get back behind the bar...it's like riding a bike right?
Names???? Can't really help you there, I just use my own name and have a
card. Sounds like you're trying to really start a business. Don't know about
