I had Green Chartreuse in the correct possition on the chart, but it is not
1.110 it should have read Green Chartreuse Specific Gravity 1.010. Also you
are correct, the higher the proof the higher it floats. If it didn't, there
would be no drinks called Flaming Dr. Peppers, etcetera. Zyedgo - thanks for
the info.
Also you are correct, you only have to look at the bottle to see the proof,
however if a person wanted to create a layered drink, and didn't have the
liqueurs, a chart might be a lot easier to use than to have to check every
bottle at a liqueur store.
I posted this recipe on the forum a while back. This recipe at this web site
is incorrect according to the specific gravity chart.

Pousse Cafe
Ingredients
.5 fl oz Grenadine
.5 fl oz Creme de cassis
.5 fl oz Green chartreuse
.5 fl oz Yellow chartreuse
.5 fl oz White creme de menthe
.5 fl oz Brandy
Method
Float each in order over an inverted spoon into a pousse cafe glass. The
different specific gravity keeps liqueurs separate, so YOU MUST pour in the
order given.
It should be according to the gravity chart:
Pousse Cafe
Ingredients
.5 fl oz Grenadine 1.182
.5 fl oz Creme de cassis 1.182
.5 fl oz White creme de menthe 1.120
.5 fl oz Yellow chartreuse 1.060
.5 fl oz Brandy 1.043
.5 fl oz Green chartreuse 1.010
