Finding how the different liqueurs are made, what they are made of is not hard
to find out at all.
Finding when they got started, what country they started in, and who created
them may require some work, but all the information is available somewhere in
books or on the internet.
Liquors cover your base liquors, such as rum, vodka, whiskey, tequila, and gin
etcetera, and any of these that have been aged.
Next in the catagory of liqueurs, which covers any of the above ingredients
infused with other ingredients. It's when you take tequila and orange peels
in a jar and after a month strain the liqueur through a cheese cloth. Or just
putting buffalo grass in a bottle of vodka.
Next in the same catagory are liqueurs made by heating water with sugar and
adding a flavored extract.
I've never made a liqueur, but If I were to make one I would make a liqueur
that is not made commercialy, like a sassafras, black - and English walnut,
lavander, rosemary, butter pecan etcetera.
There is a book called "Cordials from Your Kitchen," by Pattie Vargas & Rich
Gulling it has 150 pages filled with recipes.
