The following applies to brandies and cognac not certain if it applies to 
canadian whiskey.

V.S.= Very Special of very superior,equivalent to the three stars desigation: 
the least espenxive blend,aged at least 2 1/2 yrs(most brandies are aged 3-5 
years)

V.O.= Very Old, aged at least 4 1/2 yrs

V.O.S.P = Very Special Old Pale, aged at least 4 1/12 yrs but genereally 7-10 
yrs.
