Here is an example. Part can be anything. It can be pint, liter, oz, fifth.
But it applies to every ingredient. The only problem I have with part is when
you mix it with splashes and dashes. If I were to turn "part" into an ounce
it would be okay to use a dash of sugar, but if I were to turn "part" into a
fifth (to make a big batch for a party) how do I convert the dash?

I've seen recipes that mix ounces and parts.

Derby Daiquiri

3 Parts Light Rum
2 Parts of Orange Juice
1 Part of Lime Juice
A dash of Sugar
 Serve in a flute
Prepare in Mixer

How to prepare:

Combine all the ingredients into a blender, Blend well. Pour into a flute and
serve.
