Go to the Webtender.com home page. Then click on The Webtender Forum. You
will see a search box at the bottom of the page. Put in the search box
"BARTENDING." Over 700 questions and answers will show on lists on a number of
separate pages.
I read a number of the questions and answers. And my opinion is if you do not
know someone that can help you get a job as a bartender then you are better
off going to a bartending school that places you in a job after you finish the
course.
When I was in Houston the new bartenders I met told me they had gone to the
bartending school there, and when they completed the course the school kept
its promise and placed them in bartending jobs.
They did say they didn't think the school was necessary and that you could
have easily learned bartending on the job, but it had job placement. I think
this method is the best way you can break in as a bartender.
Skills: need to be able to deal with people.
You can start by getting some books out of the library or book store on
bartending and drink recipes, and look for a bartending school.
