Can't give you any medical info on this, but I had a very similar experience 
in a micr-brewery pub a couple of years back. 6 friends and I all drank the 
brewed on site beer at a particular pub, and for the next 4 days all of us 
suffered like never before; fever, stomach cramps, vomitting, the shits.....

On a practical point of view, I guess that if bad food can make you sick, 
there's no reason all the bacteria and yeast that go into beer production 
can't make you sick too. But maybe it would affect the taste as well??
