Have you ever wanted to experience New Orleans?
Bourbon O Bar on the corner of Bourbon & Orleans in the French Quarter seeks
one strong-ready-to-hit-the-ground-running full time bartender to start in the
middle of July. It takes about 10 days after for the background and drug test
to go through, so we are looking to have you on board by the middle of July
for training. We suggest that visit the bar from the middle of June - July 1
to interview with everyone in the bar staff to get the process started.
The Bourbon O Bar is the only nice bar on Bourbon Street. We are part of the
Bourbon Orleans Hotel. It is home to two winners of New Orleans Magazine's
"Bartender of the Year". Our cocktails are made from fresh house made
ingredients and we recommend that you have craft cocktail experience.
STOP reading here if you do not know and have passion for the following:

The recipes for NOLA classics; Sazerac, Vieux Carré, Grasshopper, Brandy
Crusta, Ramos' Gin Fiz, Roffignac, French 75, Scarlett O'Hara and Hurricane.
- You will need to have passion about the cocktail culture and classic
cocktails. You will need to have the skills to work at high volume and be
customer driven. You will need to have a personality and good with people. It
helps if you have corporate experience because we are a corporate environment.
We take pride in creating quality cocktails, but at any given time you will
also be making Jager Bombs and shots of Fireball because we have a Bourbon
Street entrance door as well. We welcome all levels of guests.
- Shifts are to be determined, but it will more than likely be 4 days on and 3
days off.
- Each shift comes with an employee meal.
- You will need to pass a background and drug test.
- The starting pay is $7 an hour plus tips.
- If hired you will be required to attend several professional classes
throughout the year.
- Full time qualifies you for benefits after your 90-day probationary
period. After one-year you are able to contribute to a 401K.
Show in person with a resume between noon-midnight any day of the week. You
will need to interview with every person in the bar team because the entire
team decides who they want to interview with the Bar Director, Cheryl
Charming. The last interview will be with the GM of the hotel.
Only serious high energy applicants with a passion for the cocktail culture
need to apply.
Do not email or call. You must show in person. We recommend you check us out
one night to get a feel for the bar and see if we are a good fit for you.
* Notes from the bar director: This is the sweetest gig in town. you get
benefits, get to work on Bourbon Street, and stay busy year round because of
hotel events. Based on monthly bartender sales, your aprox income would be
$5000 a month / $60,000 a year.
