I am supplying dinner and all of the wine for dinner. Champagne will be
passed upon arrival. After dinner, I am having a dance and a cash bar. I
don't want to make money, I just want to break even on the after-dinner
alcohol essentially. It is very difficult to know how many of the 150 people
will stick around after dinner for the dance, but I know that alot of folks
clear out after dinner. I am hiring 2 bartenders to give the people good
service, but also to be the responsible eyes and ears of the event, should
some people decide to consume to excess. I will ask the bartenders what
she/he would like to have available, but I thought I would solicit some
opinions first before I do that. I have not yet met the folks and so I don't
know how talented or creative they are. The venue is a relatively new
community hall in town. I wasn't thinking of a superpremium bar, but I want
to serve good quality stuff, that is hopefully easy to prepare/build. The
party-goers will be mainly healthcare workers (technologists, clerical,
nurses, etc.) and their spouses. These would not be the wildest people on the
planet, but would like to imbibe (don't we all).

Thanks alot for your suggestions and I look forward to others.

This is a wide open question!

How do I pour? What is 'cl', 'oz' and 'pt'? How should I handle glassware?.
