Instructions

This form is for adding URLs to the Webtender Index only! If you have comments on The Webtender, please use the feedback form.

If you would like to make changes to an entry that already exists in the database, or add new categories, please send a mail to index@webtender.com.

How to add a site:

• Go to the category in where you wish your site to appear, and then click Add Site at the top of the page. The category field below will automatically be filled in for you. Please take some time and try to find the most appropriate category for your site. Proper categorization on your part will help service your request quickly.

• The following information will be needed:

  • Title - The name of the page as it will appear in the index.
  • URL - Uniform Resource Locator, or in other words, the http://, ftp:// or gopher:// address.
  • Commercial - If the page is the homepage of a company or not.
  • Country - Where in the world is the page located.
  • Description - A short text describing the page (max. 200 characters).
  • Name and e-mail address - Just to let me know who you are.

Options in URL

These options are of interest for submission services only. They are used to set the various fields upon arrival. The options should be used like this

  http://www.webtender.com/cgi-bin/addsite?
  title=SITE+TITLE&url=SITE+URL&desc=SITE+DESCRIPTION&name=ADDER+NAME&email=ADDER+EMAIL

The options are:

• title - Value of the Title field.
• url - Value of the URL field.
• desc - Value of the Description field.
• name - Name of person who add the site.
• email - E-mail address of person who add the site.

Syntax checking

The following input will be checked:

• URL must start with ????:// where ???? is either http, ftp or gopher.
• Comment must be no longer than 200 characters.
• Name of person who add the site must consist of at least two words.
• Em-mail address must be of the form user@my.domain.
