Stir with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an Orange Twist.
This is a French inspired cocktail, using specifically French ingredients (except for the bitters). The Cointreau should not be too strong in this drink, it should just add a background note. When in doubt, increase the brandy, and decrease the Cointreau. If you are lucky enough to have Abbott's Bitters, that is what this drink was originally designed to use.
